Tip of the day: Log files can use JSON logging. You can also send the JSON data to IRCOps on IRC.

The JSON is machine readable and contains lots of details about every log event.

GeoIP and ASN

We ship with GeoIP with auto-updates by default. GeoIP helps resolving IP addresses to a country, and we lookup the ASN too. Both country and asn are displayed to IRCOps in WHOIS and these properties can be used at various places to take actions on (e.g. ban/exempt).
